hey, i am looking for which mufler to put on my camaro, 305, 3" exhaust single from y pipe to 2 tips, no cat, i have been looking at the dynomax bullet lately, but am wondering if this is overkill? Never herd one around here, was thinking of flowmaster 40 series too, but ain't sure, don't want to speed 150$ on a mufler, which one would you recomend, not only for sound but for performance as well thanks.
Dynomax Bullets flow retarded amounts of air, they are what I have on my car. On your car you will lose all back pressure, really you might as well run straight pipe if you are gonna run one of these.
Dynomax lists flow at something like 2200 CFM each, which is enough to support 1000+ HP a piece.....
In comparision the common 80 series blowmaster flows like 350-360 CFM.....
I don't think an appropriately sized aftermarket muffler exists that is going to be holding back an LG4....300 cfms is more than that engine will use. A 3" pipe is also way more than large enough. Pick one that you like the sound of. Everyone has a different opinion and a different mission. Do you want to set off car alarms? I used to try to make cars as loud as possible, but unless you are the fastest car around, then you end up being a loud car that gets embarrassed. I'm into good flowing but quiet, as my mission now.
