Jegs cat-back system

I'm in the market for a cat-back for my iroc. I've been looking around and I might go with either the flowmaster american thunder or magnaflow cat-back system. I was looking on jegs website and they have there own systems. Has anyone tried there systems and did you like the way it fit and sounded? Did it come with tips, hardware, etc?

Re: Jegs cat-back system

I put one on my '05 Silverado. Fit like ****, probably had a lot to with my truck being a reg cab short bed and the system being for a reg cab longbed

One I got it cut to fit, it was all good. Doesn't come with tips, it leaves you open to do what you want. Had a nice deep smooth rumble to it, was nice and quiet in the cab.

Re: Jegs cat-back system

Thanks for the reply 90Formula305. I seen that they had a bunch of systems for f-bodys but I didnt find much when I did a search here on tgo. I'm still debating on the system I want. Stainless is nice for the magnaflow but a little pricey for what I can spend and the flowmaster is right up there on the price too. If I decieded on the aluminized flowmaster, I might as well spend the extra bucks and get the stainless magnaflow. The jegs system is in more of my price range, but still aluminized. Do you now what kind of muffler came with the jegs system?

Re: Jegs cat-back system

It was a turbo muffler. The beauty of getting this system is that if you don't like the muffler that comes with it, just hit up ebay and buy another brand of crossflow muffler and slap it on there. The system is cheap to begin with, so a few bucks more and you get a different muffler if you don't like how it sounds. Another thing, buy a can of VHT ceramic paint and put a couple coats of paint on it. It won't chip like regular paint and will keep it from rusting on the outside. Just scuff it up a bit and paint it.

The exhaust is actually from Hearthrob exhaust. Look them up if want info on the system. They are located in MN.
