you need to add in a lot more information. What is your current setup? What are your engine specs? Drivetrain? What do you do with the car? Is it street/strip or race only?

Without knowing any of that, shortys give more low end while long tubes usually give more top end. Same for primary size. X-pipe is used with duals, while Y is used for single exhaust.

Need alittle more info.

what is the engine combo? estimated hp?

Are you going to be be going with a full new exhaust or are you wanting to retain the muffler you are currently using?

Re: which is better y pipy or x

With 205HP I would stay close to stock. I would consider a good Y-pipe and muffler. The best is true duals with large pipe and low restriction mufflers. The air that goes in must come out and the easier it goes out the more power you make. Unfortunately this word "COMPRIMISE" comes into play when adding parts and power. The poor underbelly of our cars doesn't help the situation any. My two 81 Z28s are EASY on exhaust; true duals.

I would go with shortys and a good matching y-pipe. Have that flow through a high flow cat and into a catback with the muffler of your choice.

Thats what I would do.

X-pipes work best with long tube headers, and when the X can be put in the optimum location.

I have to agree with 3rdgenmaro here.
