FedEx knocked on my door today...
...and they had a big 'ol box for me. They told me I had to sign for it. So I took it inside, and I photographed it...

I was right.
Looks like my TSP Rumbler cat back (bullet muffler under the rear seat & duals after the axle), just with different tips.

Re: FedEx knocked on my door today...
How much for the kit?
I'll be installing my y-pipe to my 2055's today. The 16829 Magnaflow and cat is to come after I run a tank through her (get garbage out and not clogging the new cat). Ill be posting a video of mine with just headers and y-pipe. Then with the full kit.
Please post a video and or pictures of the install, and then add them to the exhaust section. Thank you.

Re: FedEx knocked on my door today...
I got it for $369 from Ebay. I had considered the TSP Rumbler but I don't like the tips that it comes with. I'll eventually go with long tubes once I swap my 700r4 out and the fact that this is a 4th gen exhaust will make it simpler to do. Plus I've always loved the sound of the LM2 with cats. I'll definitely be snapping some pictures of the install since I couldn't find any real documentation of modifying 4th gen exhaust for a 3rd gen.

I liked the box in the first photo best of all. It roused all my angst about the uncertainty of life. The exhaust inside is all about self gratification. Bring back the box!

Re: FedEx knocked on my door today...
someone post a record of the exhaust of what it sounds like? Also is 2.5" more than enough for a 350 putting 400 at the crank?

One of the biggest mistakes made is reducing the collector size before the crossover pipe.
Jim Hand did some testing with his 455" Pontiac:

If you don't have a crossover, the total length of the system will have a greater affect the wave tuning than with one.

Re: FedEx knocked on my door today...
It will be pretty loud. Yes, definitely louder than a flowmaster 80 series. You can find videos of this cat back on YouTube. I'm sure it'll have a lot of drone because of the muffler location but that kind of stuff has never bothered me. I wouldn't run this without a cat or a seconds bullet in the cat location because of how raspy they are catless. If I ever get sick or bored of the sound I will switch to either a B&B bullet or the new oval Borla XR-1. The hangers are in the same location but of a different design than a 3rd gen, so some bending and modifying will be required there. The I pipe won't line up either, I need a 45 degree bend to connect to the cat, not to mention that I need to add a hanger to mount to the existing one next to the cat.

Re: FedEx knocked on my door today...
The only major difference is how the exhaust mounts to the cat. Everything else is dead on. I had a Gale Banks fourth-gen exhaust on my car and it worked out just fine.

Re: FedEx knocked on my door today...
I believe mine was for and LT1. The shop I took it to just cut off the flange it had and then bent up another piece to connect the exhaust to the cat.

Re: FedEx knocked on my door today...
I got around to dropping my old exhaust today. I lined up the new exhaust to get an idea of what I had to modify then I realized that it has the same hanger locations and design, only they were just on opposite sides. All I had to do was swap the rear hanger mounts and all was well. I only have everything loosely fitted, it still needs a little adjusting. I also need to figure out what I should do about adding a hanger near the cat location. Pics to come soon.
