how should i build my exhaust?
hey guys im in serious thaght about the exhaust on my 89 big block iroc
to start off its a healthy 427 id roughly have 400 whp estimate not tested
curantly im running shorty headers from patriot 1-3/4 primary tubes into 2.5 inch pipe and behind the trans it goes into a single 3 inch crush bent tubbing (there is no shops in my area that can bend mandrel ) into a flowmaster 80 series.
now
should i run dual 2.5 inch pipes ? andvatages of dual ?
should i run 3 inch from headers into 4 inch single and back to dual ?
i was going to run side exit but my city is trying to put a law for exhaust loudness and i dont want to be much louder than the flowmaster any suggestions?
i have picked up a set of flowpros 4415xx mufflers that are 2.5 inch in and out but like i said cant be any louder than i am already, as i got pulled over by a female officer who thaught my car was loud as why i had to go to the station and let the chief listen to it he said it was fine.
the only reason i want to change this set up is to flow better

2.5" duals should work. There's not a lot of choices really for a 4" inlet mufflers. I'm running 4" just it was cheap to build and I had a Mufflex y-pipe I picked up cheap before I found it didn't clear the Spohn TQ Arm easily. I'm using a Hooker Max Flow 4" in and out it's pretty loud.
If you have access to a welder you could buy your various mandrel pieces, measure, cut, and tack weld them. You're comfortable with welding you could go back and reweld it all after it's all tacked together or just take it to a welding shop to have it done. I had local shop finish weld my tacks and it cost me $15-$20.
Also Summit and Jegs will price match if you find a cheaper price on another site that does have an address (no drop shipping out of the back of someone's house). I used froogle.com to find cheap 90* bends for my cat-back.
