New Exhaust setup, please comment!
I'm in the process of redoing my '91 Camaro RS. I'm putting a 475hp 383 Stroker in it and I'm looking at purchasing the following exhaust setup. Please be aware I don't know much about exhaust setups, so if I'm missing something please let me know. These are the items I'm thinking about purchasing based upon what I've read here in the forums.
Headers: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-2460HKR/
(Was Curious if the ceramic coated headers of the same part # are worth the extra $200. I know they will look better but how do they run?)
Y-Pipe: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-16767HKR/
Catback: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...one=all&id=109
Will all these parts work together? Am I missing anything? Is this a good setup for my motor? I'd appreciate any help, Again I don't know much of anything about exhaust. All comments are welcomed!

Take a look at the y pipe again. It goes from 3 in inlet to 2.5 in out. I would use one with 3 in and go 3 in cat back. I have read good things about the headers listed but no personal experiance here.

Oddly enough, I can't find any 3" outs made by Hooker that sqaure upto these headers. I'm not sure why they do that, Unless it's a typo.

That stroker is gonna need to exhale so I would go with headers with at least 1 3/4" primaries to maximize it's potential.

I would if they weren't $500-$600. You can buy a pair of headers 1-5/8, Which is next to nothing in terms of size diff. for $150. If there's a pair of 1-3/4 for around $300 let me know. I don't need the coated crap, painted is fine with me since this car is garage kept, not a everyday driver and rarely sees anything but a warm summer day.

Do you know anywhere that sells 1-3/4 shortys? After looking at like Jegs and Summit it blows my mind what 1-3/4 headers cost. I actually sell pipe for a living, We dont fabricate or anything but just sell. 1-5/8 vs. 1-3/4 16/18 gauge steel is pennies apart per ft in terms of pricing. To bend and weld the pipes really in my thought would take little to no more effort then 1-5/8. It seems the header people have a hell of a racket going on when it comes to making these things.

Would something like this work? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCH-186M/
Summit lists several 1-3/4 headers that are listed for race cars, Like street stocks and such. Will these headers work with a Camaro? They are decent priced for a 1-3/4".

Re: New Exhaust setup, please comment!
I think I will just stick with 1-5/8 shortys. The difference in price seems hardly worth the 5-10hp I've been told I'll lose in the upper rpm band. Thanks for the help!
