Trouble connecting y pipe to headers
It's those edelbrock TES kind. I have 2 donut shaped gaskets in the ypipe and I'm trying to bolt it to the headers but I can't get em' to fit together. Am I supposed to put the gaskets on the headers and then connect the y pipe or something?
and also does anyone happen to know if I can fit the EFE valve onto the header?

Re: Trouble connecting y pipe to headers
I have the gaskets in the y pipe, is this right? then just install it? When I tried it seemed like I had to make sure the gasket was getting pressed in evenly with the header or else when I tightened it it would just get lopsided and not go in anymore.

yeah they go into the ypipe. You did take out the old donuts out of the ypipe right? Is that ypipe made for the headers? It's not a stock ypipe is it?

Re: Trouble connecting y pipe to headers
yes.
no, it matches the headers.
I think I just need to wrestle with it more, I'll have at it tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Trouble connecting y pipe to headers
you know the bolts go into the headers from the bottom, no nuts required.

Re: Trouble connecting y pipe to headers
yup I put the bolts in from the bottom. I think I have it now but one question is for the y pipe gaskets, is there suppose to be any of the gasket showing after it's tightened? The gasket is sandwiched between the 2 pipes. Is that right or am I supposed to keep tightening?

EDELBROCK TES...... good luck...... i have the same setup, the donuts fit like ****,i had a welding shop cut the flanges off and weld the Y pipe right to the headers.
I HATE EXHAUST LEAKS.
