Shorty Plugs

Does anyone make a shorty spark plug besides Accel? I have header/plug issues with my Patriot heads. I shopped around a bit, the Accel 0416's are only 1/8" shorter than my Autolites - - not enough to help. Any other suggestions?

Otherwise I need to dimple a couple of tubes BIG time, not a big deal since they're older stainless SLP's that required a lot of hole-grinding to fit and the port match isn't the best. They're 1 3/4" versions so will do for now. However, they're probably still saleable as-is; the existing exhaust is set up for them and I didnt want to spend $1000+ on exhaust right away, lots of other things to start with. Longterm plans are longtubes and duals, or else Player's style sidepipes.

Any other short washer-style plugs out there, or do I need to buy a bigger hammer instead?

Im assuming your Patriots are angle plug heads and your issue looks something like this?

I have a set of dart pro 1s and some NOS SLP 1 3/4 stainless headers as well and this is my issue. Unfortunately there are no plugs that are short enough to help with this issue. I exhausted all possible leads on plugs as well (the plug in the picture is an accel shorty which was not nearly short enough). What others have done is to dent the primary but i dont really like that option so im having a local fabricator modify that one primary on each side so that they clear. All other plugs are fine its just that one on each side.

Also a thing to note..while the SLPs do have their downsides they are one of the better headers designed for these cars. Their y pipe is also a nice clean design though it would have been better having stayed 2 1/2 rather than dropping down to 2 1/4. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Re: Shorty Plugs

NGK makes short plugs. Right now I am running the accel's with no issue but my motor is stock other than a few bolt on's
