Exhaust Swap Question!!!
Hey guys. I got a dilema on my hands with my exhaust and I need some help. I have a 1985 Z28 with a 1973 Monte Carlo 5.7 engine swap in it and it is running duals all the way back from the headers.
Now my problem is I'm looking into buying this exhaust from a guy that has the original exhaust for my car but I'm not sure if it will fit or how much it will cost to make it fit or if it even can fit.
My exhaust size now is 2.25. the exhaust I want to buy is 3in. But the exhaust I want to buy has the whole exhaust piping minus headers.
I want to know is there a way to make a custom y-pipe from my 2.25 pipes on my headers and somehow widen it into a 3 in so it can fit into the pipe ii want to buy. I hope it could work because I know these cars are not meant for true duals because of clearance issues and thats what I'm having because of the previous owners mistake. One of the down pipe scrapes. I want to have the stock exhaust pipe on there but I don't know if an exhaust place can some how make a y-pipe conversion for the headers to fit the new piping.
If anybody can help me out that would be great! I want to jump on this exhaust but I just want to know what I'm getting my self into before I commit.

Re: Exhaust Swap Question!!!
I don't understand. You are buying an original 3" exhaust? Three inch isn't original. Otherwise check out the y pipes from flowmaster. They are a little expensive but flow great.

Re: Exhaust Swap Question!!!
Any semi reputable exhaust shop should be able to make a Y pipe to match up to what ever manifolds you have(pardon my lack of clarity, but your post was REAAAALLLLLLY hard to understand).

Re: Exhaust Swap Question!!!
Ok I have a 1973 Monte Carlo engine in there which is running true 2.25 dual pipes all the way back. These cars arent suppose to have that. So I found a guy with an exhaust for my car (yes I know 3in isnt stock size) but the piping set up is how it's supposed to be on my car not how it is now. So my question was will an exhaust place be able to make a custom y-pipe to make my 2.25 pipes go into the 3 in?
