Headers, WHich ones will fir a stock l98 350?
Hey guys I have a 1991 Camaro Z28 with the stock L98 350. I want long tube headers. All the searching I do takes me to the V6 threads. I just want long tube headers to throw on my vehicle right into cats. I am in PA and no muffler is needed on this this so What headers will fit? I would like the to have the 3" diameter collector. Thank you.

Hedman headers 68460, they are the cheapest you will find for LT's. Listed for 179 on summit, also they are the 3 in collector.

Thank you but I don't know if this matters. I don't have the LT block I have the L98. Would they still fit in my 91 Z28 L98 vehicle? Thank you.

When I say LT's I mean longtubes. I don't think it will matter, but I am not an expert.

Re: Headers, WHich ones will fir a stock l98 350?
I am now running into another problem. I contacted Summitracing tech Support about getting LT headers for this vehicle. They stated, If I got LT headers. I would have to run a Y pipe to keep the proper blow back that keeps the valves properly lubricated. and the o2 put would only read 1 back and cause the to not run lean enough or too lean. I don't remember what exactly they said. Anyone encounter this problem and find how to fix it? Thank you.

Well I told him I was just running the headers ring into cats separate. no pipes or mufflers. Would that play a factor?

There's no room for cats with long tubes, especially with a 700R4.
Valve lubrication doesn't depend on any exhaust effects. The stock O2 sensor setup only reads one side of the engine already. 68460s don't have an O2 sensor bung, but as long as you mount one close enough to the collector it will work fine. Use a heated sensor if you're worried about it.

Crawl under your car and have a look where the collectors are going to be.

LOL it only too a year. Just an update. i ordered these headers only to find out I have straight heads and not the angles aluminum heads these call for. They do not fit the stock L98 model that's official.

Forget LT's, you need these:

No plug or wire problems

Honestly it sounds like you should forget the LT's and go with shorty's. Not trying to be a *** anything. But it would make life much easier for you. If you do go with LT's be prepared to spend some coin if you can't run the exhaust yourself. I just done my LT's with dumps before the rear axle. I spent a lot of fab time doing this project to get a good clearance.
And you will not see much, if any gain between shorty's and LT's with a stocker.
In short... Stay with shorty's
