Cat placement

Im about to finish up the 434. It will a set of Dougs LTs on it.
my question is, how far past the collectors do i need to place the cats?
I want to put a flange on the cat and bolt directly to the collector. Will have another flange on outlet to build the y-pipe from. My fear is that if place thsm that close to the collector i will "cook" them.
I may need to just call the mfg and ask..........if i can find someone there that has the answer........lol.

I'm looking to prove that GOOD hp can be made through cats and a muffler..........will be 3" y into 4" out the back with a Hooker MaxFlow.
I intend to get some dyno numbers with cats and again with test pipes.
I'll bet the numbers will be close.............very close to same same.......we will see.
