HELP: True dual exhaust build. Headers? o2 sensor?
So I am looking to get a custom true duel exhaust built for my car with a cat delete and some good sounding mufflers that give it not only more sound but performance. This is what I told the guy who I want to build the exhaust at least. I also asked if I could do headers but when he said for an extra 3 grand I could not understand why. He said only the expensive ones would fit and give better hp and torque.
For one is the true dual a lot better than the standard one pipe that splits after single muffler?
Two will headers around $100/$200 fit well and give any performance?
Finally am I gonna have issues with the check engine light being on if I do a cat delete because of o2 sensors or is there a easy way around that???

Re: HELP: True dual exhaust build. Headers? o2 sensor?
With similar cross sectional area and similar design muffler, a single with a single in/out muffler will flow the best (2 pipes with the same cross section will have more restriction, cross flow mufflers typically are more restrictive than regular).
There are lots of cheaper headers that will fit, the question is connecting them to the rest of the exhaust. $3K??? Unless you're trying to talk them into a complete, completely custom, high end polished stainless setup I would have walked as soon as I heard that, $3K more to build an exhaust that hooks up to a set of headers is a riipoff
