Just like the title states, is anyone running these headers? how is the ground clearance at the collector, the same as a long tube header? Any pictures would be appreciated. I am preparing for a new exhaust for my car and want to make sure a traditional s bend h pipe dumped dual exhaust will work the same as with long tubes before ordering everything.

Flowtech headers for these cars are a waste of time and money.......IMHO

The primaries are tiny at 1.5"...............
those things are just barely (if any) better than stock manifolds.........
the ONLY thing you gain from them is being able to say........... "I have headers".................

And as far as true dual.........thats another HUGE waste of effort............a good catback system will be ALOT better for ya in the long run..............

When properly thought out and installed.......a y-pipe into a good muffler (not a stock crossflow type) will sound better and yield less headache than a half arsed attempt at a dual exhaust on these cars........

Well I was going to use this thread to show how the headers fit since a search didn't turn up anything but that plan will be cut short. If you have a set of these headers and someone shows you a recite for third gen headers, they do not match up. Oh well off to cl the headers go.

Are those for a thirdgen????
I have never seen those before.........I was refering to the junk shorties they make for our cars.......
That looks like a fairly nice set..........you dont see many tri-y headers............If they are for a thirdgen.......and you already have them..............see if they fit well

I would still shy away from attempting a true dual setup.......take it the best exhaust shop in your area and have a 2.5" y-pipe into a 3" out the rear thru a str8 thru(ultra-flow, max-flow) type muffler in stock location with a single exit on drivers side tucked up out of sight.........

Those primaries look to be 1 5/8" or possibly 1 3/4"..................ground clearance may still be similar to standard long tubes.........

If you already have them.........its worth at least checking for fitment

Just looked those up.............they are only show fitment for 67-81 camaro..............so I would be confident saying they wont work...........
and they are 1 3/4" with 3" collector..........witch is perfect.........
I would still try the driver side just for giggles.........dont spend all day fighting it........just verify it wont fit before you put tjem up on CL

Yea maybe if no one buys them before I tear my car apart I'll try them. Since they're basically shorties with three inch pipe on the end they most likely will not work as third gen shorties aren't symmetrical like these but you never know .
