Run a line between 2 compressors to increase CFM?

Run a line between 2 compressors to increase CFM?
Is there a way to run a line between 2 compressors putting out say 4cfm, and get 8cfm as a result?

if your lines were big enough it would work out that way. i've seen it done for sand blasting. tie the two outlets together meeting at a tee ans then the tee becomes your outlet for the two compressors. my cousins does it only he has one compressor as his primary compressor and runs the second compresser for sand blasting. the increased CFM wouldn't change pressure.

we are getting read to do something close to this when summer hits and i get more time to work ...but mine is only going to be a air compressor with a 33 gallon tank and the other one i am gonna run is only a tank im goin to plumb em both together for extra holding capacity .....i guess i got off the subject ...sorry bout that
