gauges in center VENT
made custom gauge holder for 2 2 1/16 gauges. was really easy. used 2 angle rings from auto meter to hold the gauges at the right angle for me. also made new panel for radio trim and got rid of the heater controls etc. hooked heater up to single switch for full speed and OFF. used auto meter angle ring for gauge tilt, gauge is 2 1/16" looks good i think. i bought a sheet of ABS textured for like 10$

Re: gauges in center VENT
looks good iroc a 86 berli... car looks like it gets a lot of strip duty lol. the camaros are a bit easier to do bc u haave tons of room to the right of the dash and your stock gauge cluster is so small compared to the firebird.
would like to see what u did georgealtemus... just attach the pic under manage attachments

honestly ive never seen inside a 3rd gen bird. id like to see a shot of one similar to mine (drivers view) if anyone has one.
off topic, but im curious about you sfcs, i have the comp eng kit with the rear crossmember (tubular type) and ladder bars, but im hesitant to put them in when i am going to tub it out next winter.

Re: gauges in center VENT
would you mind giving any wiring help on getting rid of heater controls?
i thought they were vacuum operated, so i would think you would need to have manual controls
id like to do something similar
thanks

Re: gauges in center VENT
umm what i did to bypass it and keep the relay is that connected the ligh blue wire to a switch in the console and i connected the light blue wire to the orange wire by the relay in the engine bay. i believe. sumone wrote down what i had to do with they wireing but my dad and i figured it out before he posted it.... i would do a search for it recently. the vacume is for the vent controls i believe, the actual direction of air is controlled by the speed of the motor aka the speed ****, and the heating/cooling are controled by a cable and vacume. my cable was broken so all i had was cool air i think. i'll figure it out more when its together.and i can acutally get the fan to run. the cable there has to be a way to get it to stay in defroaster mode all the time. or a way to adjust manually as u said. i'll figure that out when i put it together

Re: gauges in center VENT
I have those pedals because the originals where trashed and they where a gift, but they do have metal straps and double sided tape holding them so they arent going anywhare, they do light up red with the driving lights and match all the gauges and interuor lights. The original 88-89 gta wheel I have has no leather and the bonnevile one I got the parts to have the steering wheel controlled radio from did so thats why thats on there, covering the original wheel costs to much.
