Found This on eBay

Found this car on eBay, look what he did to the gas cap. Very last picture, and there's more in the slideshow. I think it's pretty awesome, never would have thought about it.

Re: Found This on eBay

he probably puts the little nut thing in that one bolt next to the filler and has a hinge on the other side, actrally wouldent be hard to gear up but would be annoying on a daily driver , but for a show car like this it seams like it would be ok as you wouldn't be filling it all the time

That's a really nice paint job, but every time you fill it with gas > You have to take the tail light off? Hell no. You would also have to take the plastic rear cover and nuts off, and you know how much of a B**** that would be. A endless job with the gas you put in it. I mean for me, I would be driving it!!

lol bro he has a hinge on the tail light so when he lifts up the trunk he can open the light and fill it up. plus if u look closely on the opened light the spots where the bolts would go thru the aluminum are not there anymore haha. crafty fella that person is.

i think that how he'd fill up tho. open the trunk and move the light. since the trunk acts as a stopper for the light so it does no open.
sounds about right??

Re: Found This on eBay

Looks like a high school auto body shop special. Flashy paint, hidden mods (you will only see if you look close, with the owners guidance), nice rims, and of course crummy original interior (nothing special), 50k or 150k, or 250k? original miles, its an '84 as far as i can tell, no attention to interior details, and uh, missing the front fender guards (the plastics between the fender sheet metal and inner body) 85mph speedo, twisted weatherstripping, and as always the pegged out tach needle! V6 im guessing from the pics, i havent read the writeup yet......let me read it real quick.....5L? Only a vin #? didnt tgo used to have a vin decoder? I guess ive been away too long....Ok i have been away too long, vin checks out, according to my 86 gm shop manual. 10th letter H, 1987. 8th letter H, 5L 4bbl. But why no shots under the hood, under the car, more shots of the interior? Its obviously not 87 body panels...

Re: Found This on eBay

^^^ my thoughts exactly. Missing inner fenders, and everything original but Spent 5000 at the body shop at least. Probably 7 thousand worth of paint and wheels

Re: Found This on eBay

Relocation of the gas cap could be done somewhat easily with a 99-02 F-body plastic fuel tank. The filler neck is something like a 1" or 1-1/4" rubber hose.

Re: Found This on eBay

to do all of that and not even change out the crappy looking base model steering wheel is just odd
he also shaved the antenna, but didn't say if he relocated it, or just eliminated it

I hate it when guys call every freaking camaro an IROC. it's not a damn IROC!

Re: Found This on eBay

too many "fishy" things with that car

1) 82- 84 bumpers and ground effects
2) Base model steering wheel, guages
3) no fender liners
4) 40 coats of clear ? does he realize that's actually a bad thing ?

This thing is either had it's vin tag switched or it's a frankenstined train wreck.
regardless ... looks like **** anyway.

Re: Found This on eBay

Have you thought that maybe he likes the base model steering wheel.

Some of us are "odd" and like some of the features of base model vehicles.

I'm pretty sure that the owner is on here, I know I've seen pictures of that car before.

Re: Found This on eBay

"40 coats of clear" at 15 minutes flash time, that would be 10 hours of flash time just for clear coat.
