How about an ex-pickup trailer?
After pulling the 6.2 diesel back out of my '79 C-20, I turned it into a trailer. Just finishing it now. Wondering if anyone wants to see, and if the moderators will permit it. I decided to put surge brakes to the stock drums, so I ordered a new actuator. Because of that, I didn't taper-bend the stock frame rails. Instead I added a new cross-member then cut the rails. Then it was too tall for my dad's '92 Dodge Stealth ES, so I flipped the axle above the springs for a 7" drop. Fitting 205/55R16 tires gave another 3.5" The way my custom rear hitch is done on my '84 T/A, I can accommodate any height of trailer.

looks like a cheap way to build a nice utility hauler. I like the idea of a cap on the back, I see alot of pickup bed trailers, never with a cap though.
Ever think about pulling the bumper and using the tailgate assembly as a starting point for a drop ramp? that'd be nice for loading up a riding mower or snowblower, not that either seem to be a concern for you in Utah.

Re: How about an ex-pickup trailer?
Thanks! In southern Utah, there's little call for either, but up here we need both, alot. Well, not hauling them. I removed the bumper already, since there's no law here requiring trailers to have a bumper. The tailgate is bowed and weak after 30 years of abuse, or it'd be a good idea. As is, it'd be better to build from scratch if ramps were needed.
