Car: 1987 Camaro Z28
Engine: Carbed 355
Transmission: Borg Warner T56
Axle/Gears: 4th gen 10 bolt 3:73 Richmond gears
automatic to t56
i am going to change my car to a 6 speed manual from being an automatic. my only worry is cutting the hole in the floor. can anyone please explain to me either in words diagrams drawings or pictures on the dimensions of the hole i need to cut, and how to determine where to cut it?

Bolt the trans to the engine and lift the tail housing as high as possible. Use a marker or scribe to mark the 4 corners of the shifter mount. Lower the trans and drill small holes on the marked corners. From above connect the 4 holes with strait cuts

When I did mine, I just measured the length of the transmission from bellhousing to centre of the shifter, then punched a hole that distance from the edge of the engine block, then bolted up the transmission and jacked it up as close as possible and started cutting the hole with aviation snips. It's really not as difficult as you think.
