FS: 1985 Trans Am in Nebraska; very clean and fast
Use those tax refunds to hook up with a sweet, fun ride. This car is very clean and extremely fast. Don't hesitate to call me with more questions. 402-699-9178. I'm asking $7000, which is a steal.
Eric
Chassis: 1LE swaybars, factory "wonderbar" steering brace, steering linkage just replaced this winter, front brakes totally new about 2 years ago, Alston SFC's, Spohn torque arm, J&M products rear LCA's, Guldstrand Motorsports Panhard bar, 9-bolt with 3.70 gears installed 2 years ago. The guy that did it for me said the whole rearend looked like it was in perfect condition. There is no rust on this car.
Engine/tranny: 400sbc, bored .030, forged TRW rods/pistons 9.1:1, Moroso 7 quart oil pan, Comp Cams 286 HR10 magnum roller with all accompanying valvetrain goodies, 1.52 full roller comp cams rockers, ported Sportsman II heads with stainless swirl polish valves, Pro Products crosswind intake (RPM Airgap), Holley 3310 carb, L-88 drop base w/3" K&N, Mallory 85 series HEI, Flowtech coated headers/SLP 3" LM exhaust. 700R4 with heavy duty internals and 2000 rpm stall converter with B&M electronic lockup control kit (really slick part). I've also installed a brand new 3-core radiator, Stuart high-flow water pump, dual electric fans with automatic thermostat control, and am running a vacuum reservoir and the brakes work great. The engine has about 8000 miles on it and the tranny is near new.

Forgot to mention, I would prefer to sell, as I would like the money, but if somebody has something to trade that interests me, I would consider it.

Re: FS: 1985 Trans Am in Nebraska; very clean and fast
No, sorry I haven't. I don't have a race track anywhere around here, and haven't had time to get it to the dyno. You can see from the parts list how fast it should be, and when driving it, it feels very fast. The best I can tell you is I threw down a 12.7 on my Gtech a couple of weeks ago when I got it out, and that was with street tires and horrible traction in first gear, because I've got the pinion angle on the adjustable torque arm set at zero. Some sticky tires and a negative 3 degree pinion angle should help hook this thing and get it down well into the low 12's.

Hey Eric, my friend Travis is interested again. We came over once to see it a while ago, if you remember. The Turbo rotary he bought instead ended up being a bust and now hes almost certain the money is his to get your TA and wants to take a look at again

Car: '87 Trans-Am
Engine: LB9 (305 TPI)
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42 or 3.73..figuring it out still
Re: FS: 1985 Trans Am in Nebraska; very clean and fast
It's the price. Not many people on here have that kind of money and if they do they probably don't live near enough to the car for it to be practical. Is the car listed locally as well? Because I would like to see that car pull some real money as its a nice piece. Good luck.

It is for sale locally, but people around here seem to be into LS1 cars and rice burners. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been asked what kind of fuel managment unit it has. Too many people think a carburetor is some archaic piece of automotive history. I do have a sale pending; I'll know more after Sunday as that is when he's supposed to come get it. I truly will miss the car, but it's time to move on.
