I talked to Phil today and he said its too late to get in on this group buy. He did say he'd look at being part of another one after Christmas or in the spring.

"....Hi Phil,

I spoke with ASM today. They are waiting on some flanges to come back from the machine shop. They are going to contact them for an ETA and asked me to call back on Wednesday to get the updated info.

I am sure we overwhelmed them with the volume so it might take a little longer than originally quoted. As soon as I have an update, I will let you know.

In the mean time, I know that people always get anxious and some even get upset. If someone absolutely doesn't want to wait any longer, we can offer them a refund in full.

Thanks

Owner

There you have it. Just got this email today when I enquired about the runnere's over the weekend.

If any of you want to cancel your orders 'casue you can't wait any longer, you're free to do so. (I'm pretty sure no one's going to do that though )

When I receive more information, I'll let you guy's know.

"......Hi Phil,

We spoke to Ben @ AS&M today. He has received some of the flanges to complete some of the runners and the rest are still being machined. They indicated that orders would start to ship in about a week or so as the runners are put together. They will continue to ship orders as the runners are completed until everything has been filled. I asked them to contact me with the names and tracking #'s as orders ship and I will notify customers as they go out.

Please thank everyone for their patience.

Secondly, we are currently offering free shipping on all Spohn orders over 150.00 within the Continental US. For Canadian orders, we can give a shipping credit towards the final price and can address costs on an order by order basis.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

".....Phil,

I just wanted to let you know that Fast Toys will be closed next week for the SEMA show. If anyone has any urgent concerns in regard to their TPI runner order, they can call AS&M and speak to Ben.

We'll keep our eye open for any third gen stuff at the show.

....has anyone recieved their runners yet?

I'm finding it hard to believe that AS&M had zero runners ready to ship when we placed the orders, and since the latest email reply from Fast Toys seems to say (highlighted above) that they'll be shipped as they are ready, instead of all at the same time like we thought, I don't understand what the delay is at this point? It would be safe to assume that AS&M did not wait almost 6 weeks before realizing they didn't have any flanges, wouldn't it?

Not shedding tears, but I can't help but starting to feel over anxious...

Guy's keep in mind that FastToy's is closed for the week for the SEMA show. I posted a copy of the email they sent me a few posts up.

For all we know, AS&M can already be shipping out some of the orders, but until FastToy's returns from the show, and look at their emails/phone messages to find tracking numbers and order updates sent to them by AS&M, we wont get confirmation from FastToy's.....

Be patient. They're back up and running on Monday. At the very least, they'll have received my email and get back to me with an update.

Once I receive it, I'll post it here right away.

I know some of you are getting anctious, and maybe a little frustrated, but at this point, it's out of our hands. All we can do is wait, so we may as well not worry about it, 'cause it will only make us more anctious.

Good things come to those who wait.....

I haven't before the GP but I have since. Although I haven't recieved the stuff yet. They are waiting for the runners to ship everything together to save me shipping $$$ Because I said I wasn't in a hurry for the stuff. Winter projects now. I have snow on the ground where I live already.

I'm new to the TPI motor. i dont like my stock runners, they feel like garbage, i was interested in a larger set of runners, possibly these as&m ones or the SLP runners. which would be better for the money? my motor is a stock L98 (91)

do i need to port my upper or lower intake to match these runners? any clue if there will be another GP in the near future?

thanks

oh, one more thing, for the cost of just runners, is it worth it to buy the holley intake system and fuel rails? its a few hundred more, but your getting a lot more stuff.

jer4251,

These questions have been beat to death over the years but I'll answer them quickly.
1. Replaceing just the runners will do very little for the performance of a stock engine.
2. It is debaitable which runner is best. I think right out of the box the AS&M might be better. The SLP runners may allow you to do more porting/simeiseing (sp?).
3. Porting will give you a little more flow/power. Very little on a stock engine. More on a modified.
4. IIRC The Holley product will probably give you more upper RPM HP but at the expense of low RPM power. Holley better for the strip, LTR better for street.
5. I think Holley lacks a EGR passage and may not be emissions legal in all states.

Keep in mind this was a quick answer to subjects that are hotley debaited.

".......Phil,

The SEMA show was amazing. We are catching up on our emails now but I called Ben at ASM to get an update. He "thinks" some of the runners may have shipped but the shipping guy was gone for the day so he didn't know for sure. He is going to give us an update tomorrow. I told him that people were getting restless and the wait is getting too long so we may lose some orders or people might start calling him to complain! Hopefully that lights a fire under their butts.

We'll follow up tomorrow and hopefully some orders did go out and I 'll get the names. As always, if someone doesn't want to wait, we'll offer them a full refund. If someone wants to call Ben @ ASM, he can be reached at (480) 753-0208

Sorry for the delay. We are doing our best but the actual manufacturing is out of our control on this item......"

".....Phil,

We spoke to Ben at ASM today. The shipper will have the first 4 sets of runners ready to ship today or tomorrow. He is going to email me tracking #'s and I will provide them to those 4 people. After that, he is going to notify me as the runners are ready to ship.

If anyone doesn't want to wait, they can get a full refund. If they have any questions, they can contact us at 204-955-4896 or Ben at ASM at 480-753-0208.

The runners will ship in no particular order so we ask that people be patient. They will get them but it will take a little time as these are custom built.

Thanks again......"

Lucky ****...

How much you want for them?

They really messed me up...I'm headed to my car's maiden track voyage next Saturday and really wanted to be sporting the new intake setup...Now, I have no choice but to buy a set of heads, a cam, and longtubes to make myself feel better...at least I'll be ready for next season.

Folks,

I will show my age from this message. But I waited almost six months for an Offenhauser dual Quad manifold for my 68 GTO. That was back in 1984. I was informed that not many people wanted a manifold as such so I had to wait for the orders to build. In this case I am sure that Fast Toys/ASM did not realize the response to this offer. I am not happy either paying for product that has not been shipped yet, but a little more patience is in order.

I got my runners today. They match the rough surface of my late '92 runners that are already on my car. However, it looks like both sides have the small tube attached. One runner has the holes plugged with putty.

The houston TGO guys are having a get together this weekend at the strip. Should I try and install them before I go? It doesn't look too hard to install.

So has anybody been contacted by FastToy's in regards to their order? Looks as if one person has already received his.

Thing's have gotten pretty quite over the past week or two. If anyone's gotten their runners, let us know so we at least know things are moving along.

Otherwise, I'll have to get in touch with FastToy's again and see what's going on.

Even I'm starting to get a bit frustrated now .....

All quiet on the western front. I haven't heard a peep. Every Monday I check my email after work expecting to just maybe hear some news on the shipping front. Nothing so far.

Been over 2 months since the payment date....

Okay, I just sent out an email to AS&M themselves, to try and find out what the hold up is. More than 2 month's to make (and ship) just 1 set of runners is too long - by anybodies standards. After all, they're not building rocket-ships here, just a few sets of TPI runners....

If things continues at the same pace it took them to ship out just 1 set, it would take nearly 3.5 years to ship out the other 21. (I'm not kidding)

I tried to be as polite as possible in the email but at the same time, let them know that there are quite a few members on here that are pretty frustrated at the long delay and want some answers.

( I hope I didn't come off as sounding like an @ss-hole in the email )

Just as soon as I get a response from them, I'll let you guy's know.

- Phil

Thanks Phil. I've been patient only because I have been busy with other things. Not any more, so like the rest of us I'd like some closure on this one. Thanks for the legwork.
