Well I talked to Jim at AS&M and he figures that it's the cold air injector plug that's leaking. Being that the engines a 90 I don't have the cold start and I remember that the plug didn't have any silicone on the inside so maybe.... About the flanges being a bit warped, he said "The flanges have a bit of give when you torque them down so they shouldn't leak, especially to make your car rev to 3000RPM." I don't know..... I try silicone and let you folks know.
Guys that have had idle issues... Was your car idiling this high? Has anyone used gasket silicone with the gaskets? I haven't done that yet but I'm wondering about it.

I still haven't put mine on my 92 GTA. I am getting a friend to port a plenum and match it to my runners very shortly. I will get him to check it out thoroughly to see if I am going to have issues.

Yeah I had the stock runners on all last summer while I was waiting for them to come back from getting re-machined. No idle problems what so ever.
By the way.. update.....
Jim asked if I would send them back COD so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping again, and they would machine them again. I agreed as long as if they're not flat this time then I either get a new pair that is flat or get my money back.
As frustrating as this is I'm glad he's at least willing to deal with the problem.

Re: AS&M Big Tube runners - Thread only for the commited ....
Well guys I found my problem, and hopefully this gives others a heads up.....
Previously I had removed the plenum and the drivers side runner to see if the silicone stuff was in the small tube and the 9th injector plug (since my engines a 90 I don't need those but the runners are generic from AS&M), but I had left the passenger side runner bolted to the intake manifold. Soooooo I started to unbolt that runner to send back to AS&M for re-machining. I started with the four top bolts leaving the bottom two till last because they're a bit more of a pain, only to find that the runner was loose. I thought well maybe I loosened those two bolts when I took the other side off. I put the ratchet on and nope they were tight.
Crap, bolts too long
The reason I never thought about it was because all of the bolts were the same length (except for the two that come in from behind) and I guess the accel intake manifold isn't tapped as deep for those four bottom holes.
So, if you have an accel intake, AS&M runners, 30mm long bolts (except for the two that come in from behind)...... you'll have the same problem as me. Make sure your bottom four bolts are only 25mm!
I'll be making a phone call to Jim at AS&M on Monday to let him know that I'm a meat head... sort of.
ps. car idles fine now.

so is this pretty much the problem then, the bolts being to long or are some of these warped?
