Found a 1986 GTA for sale !

I found a 1986 GTA Formula Firebird. The VIN comes out being a 350 W/ TPI. It is overall a geat car. It needs a door skin, door hinges, new paint, and a few other odds and ends. The lady is selling it for $1,000. What do you think, should I get it?

They didnt make GTA's in 86. Nor does the word Formula belong in the same sentence as GTA, its one or the other. They didnt make Formulas in 86 either. Nor was the 350 available in 86. I'd say its an 87 something, from there I dont know.

Car: 1987 Camaro IROC Z28
Engine: 355
Transmission: 1994 T56
Axle/Gears: BW 3.27 (stock)
was it parked next to the 82 z28 pace car with the factory 350tpi and T56 transmission?

seriously tho, that car that you describe doesn't exist. post the vin if you want, and someone will tell you what it really is.

Ok I have done some researching on this and if you like please check out the following site. I am not saying I believe this but I wanted some other opinions.

I'm locking this thread. I'd suggest reading the tech data on the main page of this site, its relatively accurate. If you get the VIN number and decode it, you'll know what the car is and you should be able to base your decision on that information.
