The only ones I come up with are the same as the pictures I posted in your other thread. The older ones being white with blue lettering and the newer ones being dark blue with the white Delco label.
Did you ever have any luck with finding the Freedom ll battery?

After extensive research, I found that the original filters installed on the cars of the 80's were black. Some of them had gold letters some did not. As far as the battery goes, I found that they actually have a black top with white translucent casing. Some have writing some do not so any Delco withthe black top and white case will work for my purpose. I just have to fnd one now.

I actually have mine in the filter box of the filter I used for the first oil change. It is readilly available for pictures if you still want one. I kept it because it IS black and I thought it strange since all the others I'd seen were blue.

Have you given thought to taking the blue PF25 and having it powder coated black(would be more durable than painting it)?And just have a plain filter with no lettering/numbering.Would this be permissible or noticeable in the class you compete in?

The filter is solid black. The label looks to be silver with black. No other markings on the filter. The label is 2 3/8" wide, by 1 3/8" tall. There is about a 1/4" wide plain black section of the label on the right side.

That's it Thanx I had heard that some had a silver label now I know what I am looking for Thanx again.....As far a powder coating one that might work but I do not want to leave anything to chance.

Again, oil filters are considered replaceable parts and still be in original class. I have an AC Delco battery, bt it doesn't look like they did in 87. I've replaced my tires, spark plug wires and a few other items and still qualify as stock, unrestored. The plug wires are GM replacements as is the battery, however, the tires are Dunlop which are not what the factory ordered. They qualify because they are the correct size. The only ding in a show for not being original, unrestored, was at Camaro SuperFest. The judges nailed me for having a few spots of touch up paint on the side view mirrors. The original owner touched it up and I left it. The judges marked them as partially restored and removed a point. I won't complain about a 199/200 score.

In reality its probably most likely that the engine was painted with the oil filter on, then the decal was added later as a reference to someone changing oil. I know that was the case from Buick as the Filter was painted red from the factory.
I am not sure if this was the case for the 80's 305's & 350's but I suspect it is.
