Re: 1982 Trans AM Hood Clarification...HELP
The T46 "Flat Hood" was standard on ALL of the 82 LG4 Trans Ams for the entire production year.
The Turbo Hood was optional on the 82 LG4 Trans Ams, unless ordered with WS6 or WS7 where it was included in that package.
It didn't matter whether it was an early 82 LG4 TA or late 82 LG4 TA. If the Turbo Hood wasn't order on it, or it didn't have WS6/WS7, it got the standard T46 Flat Hood all year long. I will say it again, anything about a "hood shortage", is a myth.
The MV9 200C along with shifter was still the Standard on the LG4 Export to Canada for 83.
The 200C was also the ONLY Automatic Trans option available on the 83 LQ9 2.5 & LC1 2.8 Firebird until February 1, 1983 when the 700R4 was released as optional equipment on the 2 engines. It was gone for 84.

That is good info about the hood, but I’m going to disagree with you on your last statement. The 3-speed was available in 84 with 2.5L and low output 2.8 on the base firebird. I have seen one and its listed in the part manual. It was gone for 85 when the new engines and with all changes. Also, it seems that anything goes with export cars.

Re: 1982 Trans AM Hood Clarification...HELP
As I said
I had a early may built 82 T/A WS7 LG4 parts car and it had the cowl hood and 15" N89 rims.
I have seen pmd seats in a few 83's as well as pulled a pair from a 83 S/E a few years back.
82 shifter I saw in a base '83 firebird "iron duke" Some lady had to match here purses it was on eBay a few years ago,If anyone remembered.
So to clear up some things
Any 82 T/A ordered with WS6/7 came with cowl hood by default and depending the time it was built it could have had N89 or N21 rims.
83 still had N89 turbo cast rims and pmd seats but the seats were dealer order only.

Also noticed his earlier post: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/car/450593375.html
Notice how he changed the last line...
