Looking For some opinions

Hello everyone just looking for some opinions on what you guys would do I have a 1991 rs so far all original except for the suspention and exhaust the entire care is in great condition inside and out just needs another clear coat job and windshield and one torn seat other than that it runs great it has 200k miles on it I know thats pretty high but still runs amazing (for a daily driver) now im debating on selling it I havent put too much money into it yet but I really a Z or later model Iroc id rather put the rest of my money into so my question is should I just finish up the restoration which is near complete or just sell it and get a Z that will need alot more work to restore? No offence to the rs people but having a Z just seems like a better investment than the rs would be

Re: Looking For some opinions

Hello. I can relate to your thread as I was just undecided as to what to do with one of my cars. If your car is not exactly what you want & you can not afford another & must sell it to get what you really want, then I would sell it. Everytime you see a Z28 or a car you want, you are going to wish you had it. My husband & I have sold & parted with some cars that I lost many tears for but in the long run it all worked out. We now both have exactly what we wanted. In 8 years we have been through 7 3rd Generations & now we are both content & no longer looking for what we want as we have it. With the other cars we owned we would still continue to search for the one.
This is our timeline:
85 Firebird 2.8 - AUTO
85 Firebird 2.8 - AUTO
87 Firebird 305 HO 4 Barrel -Auto
88 Firebird Clone Jasper 2.8 AUTO
89 Formula 305TBI - Auto
Current:
86 Trans AM Crate 350 with alot of extras - my husbands car
87 GTA manual 5spd w/ all the options I wanted 4 wheel disc, WS6. T-Tops, 5spd, GTA rims

good luck with your decision.Blackphoenix

Why would the Z necessarily need a lot more work? There are many fine examples still to be found out there. Between the money you'd get for the RS, plus whatever money you were going to use to finish up the restoration, and maybe save a little too boot (and a wee bit of patience), you should be able to find a reasonable one.
