Donuts aren't cheap anymore

Either are mint dash pads

If the trend continues you better get to the yards and start hoarding replacement parts for your car.

Re: Donuts aren't cheap anymore

Thats nuts for a dash pad,but I guess if you cant find one and have the funds to shell out why not? I'll stick to scouring local auto wreckers.

Re: Donuts aren't cheap anymore

Instead of typing in 82-92 I just typed in camaro, 333 pages to search through and I was overwhelmed at what people were paying for parts Sometimes I find good parts by searching that way but not yesterday

Re: Donuts aren't cheap anymore

Yea its barret jackson. I used to like that show and got impressed with how much the cars were selling for, now i hate it, i just get angryer and angryer watching.

A 1971 454 SS chevelle, completely restored with all #s matching parts, protecto plate, completely optioned chevelle, brought in $40 000.

Next up was a thunderbird, 1963 i think. It was also in similar condition, and brought in almost $200 000. I couldnt beleive it.

Im sorry but the third gen is not even close to a collectible yet. The verts and GTA's are getting there, but theres still too many of them.

If you want parts, dont spend $300 on a dashpad, spend $300 on a parts car that has a some floor rust, and a blown v6, and take body parts off of that. Worked great for me twice.

Re: Donuts aren't cheap anymore

uhm you can buy repro ones now, they are around 350....so why buy a used one for that price thats prolly gonna get busted in shipping?

From Classic Industries website:

Part Number 12511119
Description DASH PAD Black Original GM Paint as Required 1979-92 Padded Dash:

Replace your original warped or worn out dash pad with a high quality OERŽ reproduction padded dash. Each dash will install correctly as your original. The existing mounting clips may be removed from the original dash and can be used to installed the new dash. Although these dash pads are only available in black, they may be painted to the desired color using vinyl dye. Be sure to clean the dash carefully before attempting to paint. We recommend staying away from any chemical cleaners before spraying the dash. Simply clean the dash with water and a wet towel or rag, let dry, and spray. Following these simple directions will make painting the dash a pleasant experience while getting the desired results. See the index for correct color OERŽ vinyl spray paint.

Note: This item is shipped double oversized.

Year 1982-1992 Price 349.95 Pkg EACH
