It was an option on the 15th Anniversary cars, I was just wondering if any of the Recaro cars came with it.

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
That’s good to know, I remember reading in my 82 product manual that electric seats where not available for the Recaro. Looks like they became available. That is a nice looking seat, by the way. Also, the switch looks the same as the one on my Lear Siegler seats.

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
I haven't heard of Recaro brand seat being offered in an '84.
What was offered according to the sales literature at the time was 2 different seat configuration options . . .
- Standard reclining front bucket seats on all models.
- The optional L/S Conteur 6-way power seat with a total of 18 adjustment variations (not all powered) including lumbar, thigh and lateral for the Z28.
Maybe there's a third seat package in '84 not mentioned?

All of the 15th anniversary Trans Am's had Recaro brand seats in them, I'm sure they made a Recaro version as well in '84

As far as an actual black and gold Recaro Edition, 1982-1983-1984, with power, I've never seen one. 83 daytona's with power, I'd bet against it.. can't remember.

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
I'm skeptical as to its originality.
The white Recaro in '84 was the 15th Anniversary Trans Am, and it would be unmistakeable, with its blue decals and badges, its white taillights, and whatnot. The interior was grey-themed. These cars had Y82 and a bunch of 60* codes (601/604/609) on the SPID sheet.
The black Recaro T/A in '84 was the Recaro Edition whith a tan-themed interior. These had the Y84 code (and I think some 64* codes) on the SPID sheet as well as other unique features.. black ground effects, GTA-like sail panel emblems, totally unique stripes, gold hi-tech wheels only, etc.
I suppose he could have a very rare MR-MSE, optioned with Recaro seats, but I doubt that, considering it would have other blaring signs saying it's something special, most notably the rear wing, and considering they only made fifty of these. If it is one, check for the MR MSE serial number plate near the shifter.
Ask him if he has any of those identifying marks. I doubt he does. It sounds like a simple swap job, IMHO.

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
I know this post is kind of old, however I was wondering if anyone knew the part number for the plastic piece for the power seat switch. Is this a Recaro only type of housing, or did other seats get the same thing. Also, does anyone know if this part was used in other GM cars like other Pontiacs, or Chevy cars?? Someone said it looked similar to the Lear Sigler type of switch. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
Power recaro seats must be pretty rare... I have TWO 1984 15th anniversary T/As and both of them have the manual adjusted Recaro Seats in them. At least I think that they both have manual seats... I will just have to go check on that!
Someone else on here has a 15th anniversary car. I would love to see pictures of it. Mine are both slushbox cars, and in need of restoration. I bought the two of them with the intent of making one good car out of both of them.

Since we are on the topic of 15th anniv. 84 T/A. I want to find that seat material with "Trans AM" on it to replace my grungy stuff. I also have a 15th T/A,
Not stock anymore, but here it is...http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2372309

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
Once upon a time... about 7 years or so ago... on a website far far away...
Ok, About 7 years ago, someone on the TransAm/GTA website found out that Recaro still had in their inventory a roll of the original material that was used for the center sections of the 1984 15th anniversary Trans Am Recaro Seats. They had convinced Recaro to sell this roll of material to them, and they were trying to get a group-buy together to purchase the roll and part it out. I was asked to join with them, but just couldn't afford it at the time. It was going to be 4 or 5 hundred dollars each, and each participant would get enough material to cover about 10 sets of seats.
I haven't been to that sight in years. If you go over there, you might find someone who has a bunch of extra material left over that they would sell you. If you do find some, please let me know. I might be able to buy enough material to do ONE set of seats, but not 10 sets.

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
Ya,
I remember that as well.
Someone I know bought some, and was going to sell me enough to do one set of seats for $75.00, then, when I was ready to buy them off him, he raised the price on me.
I passed.
I would love to see who has any too.

The new issue of HPP July 2009 has Steve Reichow's 15th in it.
It shows the electric drivers seat and a reproduction window sticker with the AC3 option listed at $215.00.

It would just be a normal Trans Am with power seats.
The power Recaro's are rare in any year.

Re: 1984 Recaro with the electric adjustable seat ?
Did anyone ever find out about the seat material for the 15th anniversary cars?? I would love to get enough to do one set of seats, if someone knows where it can be had.
I was just wondering if anyone had been over to the trans am/GTA site to check on it.
