Re: GM To Auction Near-Classics From Corporate Museum

The Camaro GTZ was a GM concept that kind of fused a Camaro and Firebird together and then you later saw some of the design elements show up in the 4 gen firebirds. Especially the back end of it.

Here is some links to photos of the car.

Camaro LT5 is also a third gen that was created by John Moss. See below links.

Funny thing is, those Runners look IDENTICAL to mine... I know that my runners were from an Experimental car, from someone here in MI... I wonder if they were some how a predicessor, or something to these... When I got them they actually had the same Allen Type bolts like seen in that picture... Hmmm... Doubt it but maybe.

Re: GM To Auction Near-Classics From Corporate Museum

Does anyone have more information on the original Firefox... I am looking for a better pic of the original intake setup... All I have is the barely decent picture from the Motor Trend magazine article.

Thanks

From what I understand there were 3 cars built. There was the original FireFox built from an 89 T/A or GTA...not sure but it was naturally aspirated.

The FireFox II was built out of a 91 car that was also a naturally aspirated, 6 speed and IRS. Both FireFox cars were destroyed.

The third car was the blue twin turbo Trans Am...this car was never a FireFox but it was built in conjunction with the FireFox cars. The twin turbo car is an original 1LE T/A.

Re: GM To Auction Near-Classics From Corporate Museum

I was under the impression that the Firefox was remade to look like a 91-92... I then thought that the FFII was actually a different car... i could be wrong, the FF & FFII may actually be the same car...

Re: GM To Auction Near-Classics From Corporate Museum

When the Government is bailing you out because your Union has basicaly depleated your money and the management agreed to the demands of the Union, you have to sell something, they cant sell production cars in an economy like this so you might as well liquify everything you have to try & survive.

I suspect GM wants to go bankrupt, let the courts take over the company and break the unions back. It would be the only way out of the mess they are in.

I am NOT bashing only the union, I think they have a place, and are needed, but I am bashing both Management AND the Union.

John
I dont understand Y they dont open the doors to that place, charge addmission and turn it into a long term gain money maker instead of a short term gain long term loss?????? or is it open to the public??

I have been bashing the UAW 4 atleast 10 years.. They seem to just take take take take till theres nuthing left then stand around looking at the gov'ment with there hand out saying what happened???
Like you said John, they do have a place but that was in the 30s-n-40s.. Its now 2009.. they need to realize that if they dont cut back and trim the 90% fat they have now they will ALL be out of a job.. Are they really that dumb 2 not see what they are doing/ have done??

I would b happy making 30 bucks an hr.. esply where I live its cheap here!
Im invinting GM to build a plant in central IL and they could hire a bunch of peeps that would be more than happy to work 4 30 bucks an Hr instead of 70.
Hell our cars would even get cheaper in time..

Id luv to b building the all new 2019 Trans AM everyday!
