Camaro Performers Magazine Challenge
OK everyone, the editor of Camaro Performers Magazine put out a challenge to the Third Gen guys in their latest issue (Oct, 09). Here's how it reads in their editors "Firing back" column...
"Sure, there were the usual third-gen guys bitching about not getting as much love as they deserve. Again, and I say this quite frequently, "Build 'em and we'll shoot 'em." Seriously guys, we make it to quite a few car shows and events around the country, and rarely do we see third-gens that would be considered car feature material. With that said, I have a feeling that's soon going to change. I happen to know of a few high-end third-gens being built right now that I know are going to make a huge impact on how these cars are perceived."
I know those cars are already out there, I've seen them here. I have nothing to do with this magazine and they do seem to favor the modified, customized camaros, but submitting your car is as easy as attaching a photo to an email to the editor, Nick Licata. His email is nick.licata@sorc.com or send to camaroperformers@sorc.com.
So, I challenge you guys to get your cars published! I know of a few here that have, but I want to see more! Lets show them that there are some "serious" third-gens already out there!
Sample what they publish at www.camaroperformers.com

Re: Camaro Performers Magazine Challenge
Your right - only 1 3rd gen in the featured cars.
They mention going to shows - obviously never been to ThirdgenFest, or Carlisle either. Obviously doesn't look very hard for 3rd gens - a simple search on CarDomain would yield alot of cars to feature!
F 'em. If they can't show up at Carlisle, they're not worthy of having a pic of my car!

I wrote to the publisher also and told him to consider original unrestored cars for articles. In alot of Hot Rod style magazines, I still see original or fully restored to stock cars on the pages of magazines that feature modified cars. He wrote me back and said he liked my car. Not sure what that means though.

I can't see them putting a bunch of 3rd gens in there. People bitch into them all the time in the letters section and they don't do a thing. THey even own one that they are 'modifying' but it makes it into like 1 of 4 magazines.

Re: Camaro Performers Magazine Challenge
I guess they're making enough $$$ with their current subscribers despite seemingly alienating the HUGE 3rd gen Camaro population. Very surprising is this day'n'age when so many publications are struggling.
I've glanced occasionally at the magazine while on the newsstand and found it lacking for a large segment of Camaro owners. Their title is a little misleading.
I would subscribe, if there was a point too it.
