list price 1992 GTA
I was wondering I have a 1992 trans Am gta and the list price of the car on the title shows only 18,105 dollars I thought the list price was 25 to 27,000 dollars. My car has shown a couple red flags from when I bought it. For example it's not badged GTA emblems on the fender's although it does have the gold Birds on the sail panels. And for some reason it says trans am on the right rear bumper I don't think this is a common characteristic of a gta. It does show code Y84 in the options list in the rear hatch. So that should be the all of end all but I'm still curious

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Somewhere on this site there is a complete new price list for all camaro and firebird 82-92, but I cannot find it even after searching. But I did find a window sticker for an 88 GTA, and the base price was $19,299, so I would assume your 92 would be at least that much. Doubt you could option it up to $27k however.
Your GTA is authentic if the SPID sticker has code Y84. I also don't think GTA's say "Trans Am" on the bumper.

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Interesting. If the VIN on the rear compartment and windshield match, then the Y84 would be valid and it is a GTA. My thoughts are that the car may have been rear-ended and a used rear bumper cover installled.
On the fenders question, perhaps a re-paint was done at the same time and the fender emblems not re-installed. Might sound funny, but when I bought my first '88 GTA, the fender emblems were missing - one was in the centre console, the other was under the passenger-side rear seat cushion.
Anyway, verify the VIN first to confirm Y84.

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Yeah maybe that's it I car faxed it and it was in a fender bender. I have ran the vin it comes back as a gta even when I car fax it comes up as a 92 Trans Am GTA. Even the title says it is. I saw that episode of motor week on the 91 Trans Am GTA and it said it was 24,232 dollars MSRP seems to be weird that my title says it was only 18,105. And mine has every option I think you could get on it in 92.

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Carfax will not denote the difference between a Trans Am and GTA. You will find Trans Ams (non-GTAs) to have the "Trans Am / GTA" in their Carfax. Why? Because the Trans Am and GTA both share the same 1G2FW VIN prefix. Carfax does not know the difference between a GTA and Trans Am.
Assuming the VIN on the SPID does match the VIN of your vehicle, given that you have Y84 on the SPID that does indicate the vehicle is a GTA as the Y84 is the GTA option. I'd make sure the VINs match.
There should not be a "Trans Am" sticker on the rear bumper as that was a Trans Am decal and not on the GTA.
According to GTASourcepage, the 1992 GTA had an MSRP of $26370.00

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Yes and they do i stated that in the first post. The SPID sticker with the option code y 84 and the vin number of the car match. It also says iou which is Arctic White and that is the color of the car it also has gray leather ricaro gta seats. Everything matches up except for the MSRP or list price mine is way less than MSRP. Of what you said of $26,370. The list price on my title only shows 018105 which has to mean on$18,105 anyone know what that might be?

I was under the impression that only the GTAs had them. I knew the sunbirds and other cars had them which is why I speicified F-bodies.

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Yeah you could probably get the seats in other cars two. I have'nt ever seen any other cars with a gta seats and I've owned 18 different 3rd gen F bodies, 2 which were GTA's. I was just wondering why my list price of $18,105 was so low compared to the price they sold for of $26,370 and if there is anyone out there with another 92 gta who could tell me what's list price of their title said. It's only thing I'm curious about
Btw you got any pictures or literature to back up that sunBirds or grand Ams had gta seats if so I sure would like to see them, cause I don't believe it
Sure would be nice though because I need a set of gray leather GTA seats

Re: list price 1992 GTA
I seen that you stated Y84 was on your SPID, but I did not see where you stated that the VIN on the SPID matches the car and title. If that is the case, you do have a GTA as that's the final answer.
Regarding the comment about the seats, those "ultima" seats were in fact optional on the Trans Am.

With the new body style coming out in '93, the dealer probably wanted the car off the lot. Its pretty common for the manufacturer to offer sizeable rebates to get cars off the lot.

To clarify something from above, Ultima seats were never offered on a Formula.

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Prices are all over the map. 18-26K for the same cars? The above is my window sticker from Pontiac Historal Society. That is the price in USD. Odd, since my car is a Canadian car. I still have the bill of sale from the original owner. $31,000 Canadian dollars. I asked PHS if they could send me a window sticker with the pricing in Canadian. But they said no. They only had US dollar amounts in their databases.
Block heater (LOL) I was telling my co workers here in Texas that my car came with a block heater. They had no idea what that was or how it worked.

Re: list price 1992 GTA
Thanks for the info guys that really helped out a bunch. I'm going to try to get me a window sticker too, by the way where do you get the GTA seats there the exact ones I'm looking for. I'll probably just buy the classic industries covers so I can get the ones i have reupholstered. But i really would like to be able to find a new set because the back part in tge driver seat doesn't inflate anymore

Thank god some people still have a sense of humor!!!
It really was all Factory installed, but the cage! (Well I guess the wheels never were factory installed, I bought them new over the counter.)
Then I removed them and reinstalled them n my car...
