the final 1LE gas tank post .... maybe ..
Here's what I KNOW FOR SURE ..... see pics if YOU ARE in doubt ....
this info gleened from comparing .. 87 gta .. 91 v6 bird .. 91 1LE/B4C ..... that I have right now ... and MANY MORE over the last 15 years here in GA .. and back to 1985 in FL .....
the 1LE has a DUAL screen ... and I think the walbro kit I bought has it too ... NO SWINGING PICKUP !!!!
the pickup is EXACTLY the same length .. other than a pressure bulge .... they appear EXACTLY the same ... I ***-u-me the bulge causes the different part number ...
the tanks ARE IN FACT 18 GALLONs .. when standing on thier side .. I put right at 18 gallons of water in the 87 gta tank (3 full 5 gallon cans and 3 antifreeze jugs of WATER ) .. which is EXACTLY the same as the v6 bird and 1LE/B4C tanks .. EXACTLY .... but ... I HIGHLY doubt you can fill it this full in the car !!!!! nor empty it with a wet dry vacuum !!!!!
ALL of these tanks have the baffle ... although the moron PO of the GTA cut a hole in the floor , drilled one in the tank, bent the pickup , hacked the pump wires , and broke the plastic BOX ... which is why I filled it with water ... THREE FRIGGING TIMES to make sure it it right !!!
so ... I can only assume the rest ...
the baffle is DEEP in the back of the tank ... so I'd imagine a BUNCH OF PEOPLE MISSED it when they changed their pump ... unless you got a flash light out and actually looked ... you missed it ...(doubt me ?? as the saying goes, I'm from MO, your going to have to show me a picture!!!!)
I'm also going to ***-u-me that the larger baffled tanks were in ALL FI CARS ! because that whole "year thing" doesn't jive with what I've been seeing ... and others have posted ...
