The digital instrument cluster on the 1988 GTAs actually account for about 51% of 1988 GTAs with the remaining 49% accounting for analog instrumentation. That's according to GTASourcePage.com's figures.
What do you mean by specially made? I question the 3 or 4 figure that you state.

I have owned two 88' GTA's with digital dashes in the past five years and I'm in Nebraska. So I'm going to say that they're not that rare LOL. Well unless Nebraska is a hot spot for third gen firebirds.

Re: 1988 gta specialy made.(Rare)???
I am not sure how the dash plaques worked "Specially made for..." I suppose it only means something to the original owner, IE my father had a 1963 Buick Riviera that Buick did that for him, he was an engineer for them at the time so I am not sure how much that played into it. In the end, there is no special option that makes the car more or less special than any other GTA... GTA's are special to start with (slower than a Formula) but special nonetheless...

I don’t think its as easy as to say well here’s the numbers, they made X amount so not rare. I think we have to take into consideration how many of those cars survived how often do we see these cars on the road, shows etc.
If for example they produced 3k but only a few hundred still exist well I think that just made that vehicle somewhat rare.

Re: 1988 gta specialy made.(Rare)???
Not totally sure what the actual question is.
Specially-ordered cars, meaning that the original owner picked their own options? Not rare at all, I've done it a few times. If there's a little plaque affixed to the car says "Made for John Smith" that would be unusual and I suppose rare, but not desirable, certainly not to the next owner. That's probably a dealer thing. Some manufacturer puts something like that on the window sticker.

I don't think he did it on purpose. It shows as a related thread to another that is active right now. He just needs to turn off the infinite scrolling and related threads options in his user settings and he won't accidentally reply to ancient threads.
This this new forum feature is dumb. It should be disabled by default. It's only going to take three years before every old thread at this site ends with "edit your user options."

Can all of you guys just knock it off?
I agree that old threads don't need to be brought back up unless new details can be provided. Otherwise, bringing them up just to agree with previous posts or to provide details that have already been given in the thread, is a waste of time.
Now, I also understand that the infinite scroll feature at the bottom of the page has caught many people replying to one post and their reply ends up in an ancient thread.
So, going forward, if bringing up an old thread, please do so if you're providing new details or if you have a question related to details already provided in that thread. There have been many threads reactivated by new members trying to get their post count up by bumping threads and agreeing to above posts, years after the initial thread was opened.

Re: 1988 gta specialy made.(Rare)???
That infinite scrolling is really annoying... I have it turned off, but if I’m not logged in it shows random threads at the bottom... I forget how to turn it off but it’s the way to go! I think I accidentally bumped a thread from 2009 once because of it...
