Hello folks what i would like to know is how many 1982 Camaro Indy Pace Cars with the j65 code rear disc brake option were produced. My car is equipped with this option and has the positrac rear end as well.

Welcome, I would think there wasn't very many. In 1982 there were only 6,254 RPO J65's made in all Camaro's. Got any pic's.

Nobody knows. GM did not keep records like that back then...

Estimates are around 600, but there are no records. The estimate is based on the number of Pace cars built out of the total number of Z28s. That number is about 10%. There were 6360 Pace Cars built, so the 10% gives us about 636. Since the 10% is just a calculated guess, the 600 number is also.

hello I uploaded pics of my camaro indy pace car. It had the paint job changed but it is a true pace car i know the original owner and have pictures of the car before it was repainted. It has the j65 code as well as the fiberglass hood

I have one too- J65 and LU5 equipped.

Out of about 25 or so 1982 IPC's in attendance at the 1993 pace car reunion it was the only RPO J-65 there.
