1983 Callaway Camaro

No, I'm not involved in the sale of either, just passing on some information.

Not sure where he got his information, but like two-if-by-sea mentioned it is an Autoform convertible, not a Callaway... Also IIRC the 1984 Corvette started way early in 1983, kind of like the 1991 Camaro & Firebird started way early in 1990...

Right. The guy's an idiot IMO for trying to pass it off as a Callaway car. IIRC, Callaway didn't offer any new cars through dealers prior to the 1987 model year, and didn't build a Camaro until 1993. They were known for engine packages and turbos in the late 70s through mid 80s, not hardtop to convertible conversions.

The Mecham is kind of neat... I wonder if it has the "Get-Kit" on it... or whatever they called the performance engine option.

The "git kit" was a package of bolt ons for the 305 LG4. Since it is a 350 with edlebrock headers, I doubt it has any original MSE engine components. Seems to be just the chassis with the MSE badging. Has a "88 GTA interior" with Recaro seats. Definatley not an original MSE. But the asking price reflects that.

I thought what the 88 GTA interior means he had an extra interior...

I am not sure how I would tell whether or not it is a real Mecham...

Yeah, that makes more sense-an extra interior.

Its probably real, but most of them are hacked up.
I guess the only true way would be documentation, but that doesnt happen very often either. Mine came with the window sticker from Mecham Pontiac in Arizona and the extra invoice for the Mecham goodies. Also have the git kit uninstalled.
