To be fair, it's probably more "race car" than a lot of LE-1s on ebay. Even if it doesn't have the super dooper speshul swinging fuel pickup.

Every 2nd gen is now a "Bandit;" every 3rd gen is now "1LE."

You guys are quick to bash here. Aside from the 1le issue, it sound like a pretty legit track car with some pretty good parts. The price is even reasonable.

Someone could have a lot of fun with that car and you couldn't duplicate it for the price even if somebody gave you the shell!

Lmao I know, I clicked on the link expecting it to be some overpriced pos. Once I saw the price and build I forgot all about the 1le thing. Great deal!

Re: Hey! It's a 1984 "1-LE".

There are many ways to arrive at 305 cubic inches. Here's a 307 cubic inch SBC that makes 790 HP and turns close to 10,000. There are many small displacement Comp Eliminator motors out there making more than 2.5 HP/CI NA. Note: turn your speakers up - this is mechanical music!

Many years ago a friend had a 1973 Nova SS 4 speed. He had a 307 built very well. It was very quick. The 307 had a bigger bore & shorter stroke than the 305 as I recall. It was considered a POS engine by most because they were all built oem as a low compression smog-abiding engines that at best, didn't burn up all of its oil between changes. But, build them right & they were screamers. Most people never bothered to try when 350's were so plentiful.
surprised the heck out of me back then......
