BEAUTIFUL pair of cars, Scott!!!

I've had twins to your cars, too! My 87 IROC-Z was a 5.7 car with 48k miles (sent you a pm about it). My 82 Pace Car wasn't a very nice car. Had like 80k miles and evidently had a pretty hard life. I did some wrenching and a lot of buffing on it and then sold it. I'll look for pics..

Wow!!!! This is the first time I'm seeing these pics fullsized and not on my crappy, tiny phone. This car is a creampuff! Love it!. So nice!

Sorry about your brother, man.

It's a gorgeous car, i'm a huge survivor car guy and yours looks stunning. My first car that I owned for many years was an 86 Z, same color combo... silver, charcoal on the bottom, red stripes, and a red interior.
Sorry to hear that, Erik.

I know you just put a set of BFG's on it, but if you are into originality, Kelsey tire is reproducing the Eagle GT's. They are expensive at $360/tire though.
Totally agree with that. Those repros are expensive, but this car deserves them.

Is this what your first car looked like? I almost bought this car because of the color, but it wasnt an 82

Re: Newly acquired 20k mile 1982 Z28

Your Z is in amazing shape!!! Sad for your loss years ago, but uplifting reason on purchasing the car. Also your brothers GTA is sweet too!!
Really nice to see 3rd gens are getting a new lease on life, people actually want them now. The bodylines are still attractive even today. Brand new Camaros absolutely rock, but something about them looks kind of generic.... They look mean... but too me the shape of a 3rd gen has more personality. Just me.
You and your brother should take a bonding roadtrip, hop in his GTA and head to Ohio to the Trans Am Nationals in August. Any 3rd gen car show will fuel your passion and blood for these cars.

I'm pumped. Been emailing a dude at Phoenix Graphics, and came up with a damn close match to my factory stripes. Their ORANGE kit matches my stripes VERY close...They're WAY darker than the factory orange kit, but it matches my red factory stripes! They're on the way!!

It's great to see an '82 in such amazing shape -- so many unique things about that year. Very sorry to read the story about your brother but I can understand your desire to own a car that carries that kind of attachment. Enjoy your new ride!

You should do well with Phoenix. That color matched my factory stripes very well, if not perfectly. Printed on quality 3M material.

Thanks fellas! I like it a lot more.....the other stripes were just too dark. Looked like one big purple stripe. I like this contrast way more. Still brighter than the originals, but it's my best option for now.....unless I can somehow piece together an entire NOS kit

Yep, I agree. The top stripe is actually the same color as the original stripe, and even the same color as the last stripe kit I had on the car. The only difference in all the kits is the middle color. That one stripe sure changes things, though! I think I like this kit BETTER than the originals....it goes better with the rocker emblems and the centercap emblems. But I'm a sucker for originality, so I will put the right stripes on it if I can ever eventually find them......
