I just acquired a 1992 firebird convertible, jade green over tan. The cloth seats are in great shape, and I'd like to keep them that way - by removing them!
Judging from a quick read of this section, it seems like leather seats are a hard commodity to find. Is this true? Because I've been thinking tan leather seats would be great under this ragtop.
So guidance please from this knowledgeable group:
How hard will it be to find tan leather for front and rear?
Will the rear seat from a coupe bolt into the convertible?
What years should I be considering?
Where should I be looking?
Any other suggestions or leads are appreciated.
Thank you!

I belive that the leather seats eill be hard to get, unless you look for 4th gen. Try looking 93-96 or 98-current. I do not belive that you can put a coupe's rear seat in yours. Anoter alternative is to cover them there is a site that sells this stuff. It is called MrMikes.com something like that. Someone else who reads this is bound to know it.

Yup, the address is www.mrmikes.com Excellant customer service and I can't say anything bad about his products at all. I have had my leather seats now for 1 year and my visors and door panels for 10 months. They still look like I just recovered them and oh that leather smell in my car is just wonderful
BTW, it took a total time of about 5 hours to uncover and recover all the seats. Mr. Mike makes it very easy with the video he sends along with all the tools to do the job.

Leather seats would be great, but they would get really hot, especially in direct sun.
Also, you would have to take really good care of them as with heat, leather stretches and shrinks, which causes cracking - so you would have to use a good leather protectant.
