I’ve never seen those in person but remember reading somewhere (many many years ago) that Pontiac was considering changing the Trans Am name to TA. They thought with an all new design it was more in tune with the times and we’re hoping to no longer having to pay royalty fees for the Trans Am name.

That would make a lot of sense. In the video they said firebird TA and not trans am. Would really like to find some of these badges for my collection

Thats some pretty cool history info. Never heard that before & I owned an 82 " T/A" back in the 80's

I've only seen those emblems in one photo of a black/gold pre-production Trans Am that the hood also said Turbo 4.9 on...
