Bought a Hawks reproduction console lid...
Fits and looks pretty close except the metal bracket that has the spring on it is raw metal instead of black and the leather on the front of it doesn't go under the plastic button trim like OEM which is disappointing as it looks like it will pull up at anytime...
More importantly it is HARD to unlatch. Its like it sits just a little too far forward. Swapped latches from the old one to the newest one, but no change. No other real adjustment and both OEM consoles I have latch and unlatch perfectly.
I removed it a few times and slotted the holes on the bracket that attach to the lid itself and after a 1/4 or so of material removed it is still a nice positive close, but not too tight (my 11 year old daughter can open it left handed now). If they slotted these slightly with a brief instruction on how to align it so it clicks down, but doesn't bind would be a very good thing IMO. Otherwise it, pretty close. Also, it is not assembled like the OEM one, so you can't swap the bottoms over and just use the new leather (which is what I'd guess 90% of the reason people replace theirs), because the bottom plastic piece is glued to the top part at the front especially where the trim piece goes around the leather top as it is designed differently there than OEM.
Anyways, its OK now, just have to get a reproduction RPO sticker made!
