How rare is this interior?
I just bought an 83z28 in amazing condition, and it has an interior i have only seen once ever before, and that was on line. my question is, how hard is it to find, and does anyone have a ballpark of how many of this interior are out there?

awesome, thanks for the comment. I love this interior seriously. its so ugly but ive never seen anything like it..and it fits with the car. unfortunately this does have a small tear about a half dollar size in the bottom bolster but i imagine most of them do. The car even came with two extra "camaro" inserts and a peice of cloth to have that portion of the seat redone.

You have the optional Lear Siegler contour seat option that was available during the mid-eighties. If memory serves me your color is called Burnt Orange and came with charcoal gray carpeting. Finding these seats in mint condition is rare.

thanks guys i appreciate the comments, and thanks rook7 i knew the name of the color but i didnt know the actual name of the seats...thanks. anyone know of any resources for production numbers on a specific camaro? i would like to know how many came with this seat option and 4 wheel disc brakes...i really am just trying to find out how rare this camaro is, because i have a perfect 350 small block that is mildly modded and also a 4 point roll cage i could put in this, but if this is not a common car, im not going to hack it up and change out the motor...if i was to do this i would probably sell the interior and i think i would have to change a decent amount of wiring. anyway, anymore feedback always appreciated and im going to post up some other pics of the car for you guys.

Your '83 has the only 2 options mine doesn't in the L/S Conteur seats and the seat trim(although doeskin is right behind in pain to find replacement pieces).I haven't seen a Camaro with that interior in many years(except in pictures). It's interesting that the "Camaro Whitebook" doesn't show the option code for the L/S seats. It just mentions the cost difference with the seats(this isn't unusual for the "Whitebook")
The RPO J65 4 wheel discs aren't rare but then they aren't common either(especially in the early 3rd Gens - mine has them also). What motor does your '83 have in her now?
You definitly have an uncommon Z28 with the options she has.If it were me I'd find a SC,RS or lesser equipped Z to modify.I'm keeping my '83 for the most part the way she came from the factory except for suspension upgrades and switch to gold accent 16" IROC's.But that's the fun in working on cars doing what looks good to you and what you're happy with. Please post some more pics of her.

So this is it, of course in the garage since its getting cold and also that im currently picking peices of the rear end out of the pan...but anyway, im pretty happy with it. oh and please excuse the FILTHY engine bay. these were pics 3 days after i got her, ive since gotten about 2/3 of the engine bay spotless. any other comments? oh and it supposedly has the 305 HO. unfortunately, i havent been able to verify that yet as it should have badging both on the air cleaner and "exterior badging" but i do know for sure it is the original motor, and the title states and l69? i believe. And im honestly thinking about keeping it bone stock, except for some .410's and a new true dual exhaust. possibly a burnt PROM as well. ive heard good and bad things about it, from huge power difference to nothing more than bad gas mileage. If any of you have messed with your ECU's, has it been good or bad for the car?

I've seen the seats many times in the yards. I purchased three driver's sides and a twin set (which is currently in my car), so rare? From my limited experience, I'd say no. By the way in an above pic, the air box is incorrect for an L69, which should have the dual snorkel set-up. The A/C lines aren't correct for the L69 (vin G) either. I also believe the L69 was equipped with an electric fan. Looks like an LG4 (vin H).

Nice-looking ride nonetheless.

Have the Lear Sieglar seats black and grey color in my 85 IROC. Also door panels the same. Comes with black carpet and headliner, sun visors, etc, Also called contour option, I think. Somewhat rare if in good condition, they are out there, just scour the junkyards. Badman
