Engine: 2.8
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.42
tach froze need hlp!
i turned my car's ignition to run and my tach went straight to 7 grand, and it moves from 4400 to 6500 and wont go back to 0, my car wont start so thats not the rpm, whats wrong, how do i fix it?!?!

the tach in my 'roc has done that on occasion as well. i tried tapping the gauge as hard as i could without breaking it but to no avail. it would stick at like 6k and not come back down. after driving for 15min or so it just fell back into place and worked fine. im not sure what causes this but its only happened twice in the last 20,000 miles. i guess if it doesnt come back down after you get it running again you could pull the bezel off and move the needle with your finger back to zero.

Fix the car and drive it for a day or so. If it doesnt come back down on its own, then id start looking deeper
