Rolling odometer forward...

A long time ago, I swapped out my 85mph speedo with a 140mph speedo. The new speedo had about 20k less mileage on it than my original. I've finally tired of keeping track of the mileage manually so that I kept it accurate. What's my best option for rolling the speedometer forward to match actual mileage?

Re: Rolling odometer forward...

Just take it apart and roll it forward. It's really self explanatory and straight forward.

This should help you actually getting the speedo apart to get to the "dials" or whatever you want to call them. http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/fa...-fix-pics.html (Trip Odometer Fix/Pics) That JamesC really knows his stuff lol.

If you have an old speedo cable and an electric drill, it's pretty easy, and quite fun if you're easily amused (120MPH and I'm sitting still! wheee!). for 20k I'd put the drill on cruise control with some tape or something though.

I would agree if you have a cable, use a drill, just make sure you go the right direction.
Don't know how true this is, but some are supposed to have some kind of color or something come out between the #'s if rolled backwards.
