Steering Wheel
Hey I didn't know if this should be in here or electronics or what but here goes. My GTA has had the airbag removed by the previous owner and I was going to install a new wheel with airbag but I have been told that the leather wrapped wheels don't last very long and dealing with everything to re-install it such as finding what the previous owner did so that the SIR light is not on and everything like that makes it a very big headache. It was suggested to me to replace the column with a column from an 87 or 88 instead and go with a 3 spoke wheel or a wheel with stereo controls. What is everyone's thoughts? Opinions appreciated. Thanks

Re: Steering Wheel
You should check out columnsgalore.com ? I used them via their 1800 # and replaced my worn out 91 Z28 column. Thier columns are rebuilt so they are not fully remanufactered... but everything is checked and freshened and painted to match your car.
I had a leather wheel but it was trashed... I went and found a non leather out of an RS an swapped in a vinyl wheel

Re: Steering Wheel
It really depends on what you really want. If you want the original air bag steering wheel then go that way. If you don't, or it doesn't matter one way or the other then go without it. Also if you have safety inspections as part of your registration they sometimes won't like the missing airbag.
