pull down motor test

Ok my camaro has an electric hatch, but its not hooked up. by that i mean there is no switch in the car for it and the wires are all unplugged at the hatch its-self. If i want to open the hatch i just go back and use my key. My question is how can i test the electric unit to see if it will pop the hatch to work correctly. Im not even sure what its supposta do as ive never actually seen one work. Any help guys, ive been searching for about an hr.

Re: pull down motor test

Not all of cars with the electric motors allow remote "pop" of the hatch; most of the time its just there to close the hatch. If you do not have a switch inside the car, chances are you do not have the correct parts currently to allow remote release. Adding this feature, that's another story.

Re: pull down motor test

There will be an extra solenoid mounted to the motor. It should have a single wire connection. If there is no solenoid, then you dont have remote release.
