4th gen sunvisors

I assume they would work, but I wasn't sure. 3rd gen sunvisors are getting hard to find and used ones are a gamble. Plus 4th gens are a little bigger. Just curious.

Just curious too: Why a gamble?

Re: 4th gen sunvisors

If they are used, its only a matter of time before they break and become loose and fly off because of a bump in the road. Thats why I don't have a driver sunvisor in my car.

Re: 4th gen sunvisors

The hanger and/or sleeve is the usual culprit--but fixable:

Re: 4th gen sunvisors

Thirdgen sunvisors are easy enough to recover too. They're like the headliner, only a thousand times easier. The hard part is restitching around the edge.

One solution I don't see in the thread JamesC linked to...

If the pin rotates, 9 times out of 10 you can tap the pin back into the housing with a hammer. The elbow is cast, and then the pin is pressed in. Overtime the splines on the pin can strip the elbow or vibrate loose. A couple taps with a hammer will push the splines deeper into the elbow and embed the splines. It doesn't always work, but it's really fast and easy when it does.

Re: 4th gen sunvisors

I have a 4th gen, and I can tell you the 4th gen visors suck worse than any I've ever seen - they are half as thick, very very flimsy, and my Bud Light box has sturdier cardboard than the 4th gen visors (they are literally just very thin cardboard). Stick to 3rd gen visors, and refinish them.

Re: 4th gen sunvisors

would any other vehicles have sunvisors that would be an upgrade from stock ones on our cars?
