Camaro RS Interior Work

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums, and I was looking for some advice on modifying the interior of my 1990 Camaro RS. It's my first car and I just purchased it back in December 2009 from an individual from Craigslist, (I know, I'm a little late on getting my first car and all).

Anyway, I wanted to know what type of leather seats would fit or are compatible with my car. I don't like the fabric inside my vehicle at all and wanted a completely new interior, with black everywhere. The driver seat is torn on a couple parts and looks ridiculous. I don't know a lot about cars but I need to start somewhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Re: Camaro RS Interior Work

post some pics of your current interior, and that will help us get an idea of what can be done, and should be done

the first thing you should know is that 4th generation f-body seats are a direct fit into 3rd gen bodies, so finding a set of replacement seats is easy. do a local search on craiglist for camaro seats, and you should be able to find something there

Re: Camaro RS Interior Work

Most 4th gen Camaro/Bird seats have an electric driver seat as well - easy to wire in - just ground the black wire and add + juice to the orange wire. I ran a ground wire under the carpet directly under the seat and used a selftapping screw to ground it to the chassis under the plastic for the seatbelt. I ran a + wire under the carpet to the doorsill, then up to the fuse box - I have it wired so that I can adjust the seat without the key on - that way I can move the seat back BEFORE I try to get my big butt in (in the event the wife was driving last time).
