Where can I find a 5 speed center console trim plate for an 89 GTA
Im converting my 1989 GTA to a manual trans and I am haveing a heck of a time finding the center console trim piece for a GTA. Does anyone have any ideas where I might find one? I have ads posted in a bunch of websites and Ive tried hawksthirdgen and the other sponsors on this site and none of the junk yards I have tried have any GTA's. Is the regular Firebird console trim plate the same or is it a different design? Any help would be great.
Thanks
Thanks

Watch ebay and scan TGO classifieds for people parting out cars. The part is the same from any 85+ 5-speed firebird, even the base model cars. They aren't all that rare, but they're rare enough in good shape that you'll need to be willing to spend a few bucks.

Its good to know that they are all the same from 85-92. I just need to find one in good shape with power windows and mirrors. Ive tried ebay but Ill just have to keep an eye out for a while in a few places.

Are they from Firebirds? Do the non-power plates have cut-outs with blank covers?

Yeah they are from 85-92 firebirds.I believe you would have to cut out the holes yourself as there is no outline on the underside

Ok, I supose it wouldnt be the worst thing if I had to cut a couple holes. Are they in excellent condition? Can you email me pics to smkngta@aol.com. Where are you located?

What kind of defects do they have? Can you email some pics of the defects and how much would you want shipped to 53189 (Milwaukee WI area)?

Do you have any pics of how it looks?
I was actually reading the t56 sticky in the trans section and it looks like online170 used his stock Auto shift plate and didnt even cut it. He just took out the RNDD21 and made something that says firebird in it's place. I'm kinda leaning towards doing that. Here is a link to the thread, there are some pics and even a video about half way down.

Ok, thats how I figured you did it, I just dont really want to cut up the stock plate in case I ever wanted to switch back to auto for whatever reason.

I lucked out and found a pretty mint on with only 1 cig burn under the console lid and i put a new boot on it. Paid good money for it too, havent seen another decent one for sale since, and thats bee a couple years
