HOW TO remove/install bottom of console
92 Z28 convert
long story but center console was completely out and I am now trying to put one in - I cannot get bottom section it to clear the shifter and ebrake handle so it will fit correctly - looks to me like I need to somehow remove or release the ebrake handle so the cross bracket on the lower console will be able to fit down in front of it - does that sound right?
I searched on here but cannot find any detailed info on the removal or installation of the console lower part - if I do need to remove or release the ebrake hadle to a certain position is there an easy way to do it short of removeing or disconnecting everything?

Need to really lift the E brake almost straight up - use both hands and pull it way up - then slip front of console in holding rear up, then work rear of console down over the E-brake. Also helps to put auto shifter into D or 2 (chock wheels).

Yes,As above. It can be painful but it can be done.Just be careful with the thin areas of the console,so you dont break them.
