Problem removing center console

Okay I'm in the process of removing the center console to remove the carpet, but I am having trouble removing one of the 7mm screws under the arm rest compartment. The upper screw on the drivers side is not coming out, it turns but just wont come out. I think the threads are warped on it. Has anyone else had this issue or any advice on how to get this thing out without breaking anything? And the car is a 1992 RS camaro auto.

i would try to see if you can get a small flat head screw driver underneath the head just to put a little upward force on the screw. sometimes the speed nuts and sheet metal holes round out and just spin like you're talking about.

Re: Problem removing center console

ok I just tried that method with no luck. Theres not enough room to get anything else in there with the socket to get much force on it. I've even tried turning it with pliers while pulling up with no luck.
