Re: Wiring Electric Seats

Seats will have 2 wires, a power and a ground. Can ground the ground wire anywhere (I dilled a small hole into my seat belt retractor at the bottom of seat, and put a sheet metal screw into it.

Power wire - run under the carpet or under the door sill plate, up to the driver underdash. In the fuse panel, you'll find an empty slot marked BAT - crimp a standard 1/4inch male spade connector to the wire, and insert into that slot.

That way, the seat will have power even without the key (so you can set it back after a shorter person drives, before you put the key in).

Re: Wiring Electric Seats

If you run your wire to the bat slot make sure you put an inline fuse 20 amp. That will save you a lot of trouble if the wire gets shorted to ground.

Re: Wiring Electric Seats

So the tracks are different (power and manual seats??). When I bought my seat off a 98 Z28 for my 91, it came with the tracks.. and the holes seemed to line up (have not wired up the power seat so I haven't bolted them in all the way yet.. Stone
